Warrior Stories — They Empower Us All!
What were
some of the defining moments in your life when you found your
Fighting Heart and became a warrior? Did you defend your little
brother against a bully when you were 8 years old? Parachute out
of an airplane at the age of 57? Fight off an attacker? Recover
(or are recovering day by day) from incest to finally lead a
peaceful life? Please send me your stories.
They don't
have to be "fighting" stories, just anything where you did
something so brave, so unusual or so out of character for yourself
that you became a warrior. And, remember that success takes many
forms; sometimes we may lose a battle but go on to, in some way,
win a war (see

A Word To
Crime Survivors.
Sometimes
nothing can be done to prevent the outcome of a situation and
submitting, with or without resistance, is a valid option for any
type of crime. There are no right or wrongs - whatever
you did to escape alive was the right response.
It's common for crime survivors to feel
guilt or shame about what happened, but with the proper
professional help, you can learn to put it into perspective and
get on with your life. To get the most beneficial help, contact a
local Rape or Domestic Violence hotline or women's organization
for a referral to a counselor or program that deals specifically
with crime survivors. There are some
resources
listed on this website that might also prove helpful.
